Morning was a little slow, I knew this would happen. After a light breakfast we are off the dock, leaving Saint Thomas and heading to Peter Island for the night. We immediately raise the new mainsail and the Genoa headsail. The Christmas winds seem to still be blowing, unusual for this late in the year. Midday the temperature is quite warm in the sun, but the cool Caribbean winds combine to make it extremely pleasant. 

Moving at 9.5 knots at times we arrive at Peter Island quickly. We secure an anchorage right in the vortex of wind coming over the isthmus where Conrad, a BVI homeless person sits and depends on whatever he can sell or talk the tourists out of. The locals noticed when he received alcohol from visiting tourists he would become quite obnoxious and no fun to be around. So finally someone hung signs in the trees saying "Please DO NOT give Conrad ANY Alcohol". It seems to have worked and everyone says he is now the nicest person. He still tries in his low key way to collect toll from passing tourists or sell them one of his used post cards for $5. 

Tonight will be an early night. We enjoy some delicious Chilean Sea Bass and vegetables, a very healthy dinner.
