The mega sailing yachts are racing out of the new Costa Smeralda Yacht Club at the Bitter End, named because it is the east end of the BVI. Our friend Captain Clive, aka Captain Cabbage, of Billy Bud II, an Italian owned smaller mega yacht, 120 feet, is racing in the event. Clive was tagged Captain Cabbage because one day Deborah was trying to text him and the autocompletion feature kept completing Captain as Cabbage. After several failed attempts Debora said aw heck with it and just completed the text to Captain Cabbage. So that the rest of the story.

We We plan to sail to the Bitter End to catch some of the last day of racing. There is not too much wind today and our course is going to take us almost directly into the little wind that there is. So we elect to just motor to the Bitter End. 

As we approach our destination the huge mega yacht sails tower into the sky. We have caught the last 2 legs of the race; the 5 mega yachts are to make one last mark and turn for the finish line where the race committee is waiting aboard a large catamaran sail boat to witness the order of finish.

Our timing is perfect. We motor along parallel to the race course and cross perpendicular to the finish line at the same time as the 3rd and 4th place mega yachts. Captain Cabbage and his Italian crew comes in third. 

We anchored right next to the largest cruising catamaran in the world, the 145 foot Hemisphere. Gavin, the Hemisphere captain, met John and Deborah years ago when he had a look at Bella Donna. He drops by after dinner to sit and talk. It is fun to just sit and listen as both John and Gavin take joking jabs at each other. Gavin is a single male who likes motorcycles, sports cars and fast women; so its easy to have fun kidding him. 

Early to bed, early to rise makes a person healthy, wealthy and wise.
